Trampoline 01:46
I`ve been thinking 'bout all the little things you used to say I`ve been dreaming 'bout all the little games we used to play You don't wanna hear about it, nothing I can do to make you stay I`ve been missing all, missing all the things you took away And I guess you really mean it boy, you took all of your things and went astray You could never meet a meaner girl than me on any given day Well I`ll need more than just a moment to digest this Oh look, you're so happy, you're so free Any other woman might take it easier on you But not me and I hate it 'cause my baby's got a new trampoline You know what I mean right My baby's got a new trampoline You know what I mean

Inner Child 02:54
It's not very funny to me To disregard what I was telling you about my inner child I wouldn`t mind if you had tried But to depreciate and have the nerve to look me in the eye And lie, while I cry Why, you lie, while I, cry Committing to love is a repeated decision And I can`t think of a more important mission Committing to love is a repeated decision And I can`t think of a more important mission Please read the words you wrote for me Make 'em loud and clear so that I might see How did you feel, how much d'you spend But you`ve forgiven me And now I see how far your love can bend And then we start again You bend, and then It starts again Committing to love is a repeated decision And I can`t think of a more important mission Committing to love is a repeated decision And I can`t think of a more important mission Why Why Why

Tell me once more what good am I for If I can`t hear you no more when I`m 64 Well the plan is to grow old gracefully And I'd like to continue to hear, you see So what what what what what'd you say I couldn't hear you then, can`t hear you today Well it's kind of annoying but I guess it's love I'll say "yes" with a smile when you give me the plug P-R-O-T-E-C-T your H-E-A-R-I-N-G P-R-O-T-E-C-T your H-E-A-R-I-N-G Growing old sure does give me a fright But if I think too long then I'll be up all night I don't really care, I like to be up late But I learned early on you're quite the sleepy date So what what what what what'd you know You know you can find me front line at the show Well it's kind of annoying but I guess it's love I'll say "yes" with a smile when you give me the plug P-R-O-T-E-C-T your H-E-A-R-I-N-G P-R-O-T-E-C-T your H-E-A-R-I-N-G

about

Simply is The Ape-ettes follow-up to their self-titled freshman album. First time on vinyl, these songs explore the trials and tribulations of taking care of others while also trying to take care of yourself. First off, “Trampoline” is a straight up breakup song. Track 2, “Rémi”, is a fun little banger about raising a son while attempting to maintain a cool mom vibe. “Inner Child” is a psychedelic little number about love, and most importantly, self-love. The grand finale is “Hearing Protection”, a punchy tune about trying to grow old gracefully and a PSA about the very real dangers of punk rock- induced hearing loss. All in all, The Ape-ettes hope to inspire healthy habits in self-care, like brushing your teeth and protecting your hearing, so we can all live a long and happy life.
